Level 3: Word Mastery & Expression

Target Learners: Elementary-aged readers developing reading fluency

 

Overview:
Level 3 contains 26 Lessons and expands the learner’s phonics skills into vowel teams, r-controlled vowels, more digraphs, and longer sentence structures. Learners explore themes and fun phrases while improving comprehension, expression, and accuracy through repetition and exposure.

 

Key Features:

• Focused lessons on sounds like ar, sh, ee, ea, y, er, ir, ur, ng, ch, ow, or

• Simple phonics-based storytelling (e.g., The spark starts an alarm)

• Multiple phonics patterns per unit for comparison and contrast

• Introduction of expressive phrasing and character dialogue

• Natural spelling progression embedded through reading
