Level 4: Fluency to Independence

Target Learners: Upper elementary or advanced young readers

Overview:
Level 4 contains 22 Lessons and cements advanced phonics knowledge and bridges into independent reading. Students tackle silent e words, diphthongs, variant vowel teams, and soft/hard consonants, preparing them to decode almost any word they encounter in children's books.

Key Features:

• Advanced patterns: th, oo, ai, ay, oi, oy, aw, au, ph, igh, soft c, ce, ci

• Decodable vocabulary includes longer, multisyllabic words: vanity, elephant, graphic

• Expanded context and storytelling with more abstract vocabulary

• Light comprehension integration (e.g., Why will you pick wheat?)

• Real-world vocabulary (e.g., typhoon, auction, photo, graph) to boost reading readiness
